The first listing for Dickinson’s Gallery at 114 New Bond Street was an advertisement for an exhibition of a picture of the royal highnesses in the Times on 22 June 1868 (1). Individual exhibitions at the gallery were listed in The Year’s Art throughout the 1880s, but after 1891, a standard description of “miniatures and various sporting pictures” appeared.
