Buck and Reid's Gallery

In the late 1880s, the gallery seems to have specialized in the works of Jules Lessore, A. D. Peppercorn and the Barbizon School. In following years, they simply list “various watercolours in the season” in place of a detailed exhibition record in The Year’s Art. A notice in the Academy in 1885 commented that the firm was “well known from their long connection with the late firm of Messrs. Goupil.” (“New Prints,” Academy, 24 October 1885, 279.)
